WATER PAVILION | PORTO CITY’S PARK

15/03/2024

The biggest water and science festival in the country.

At the Water Pavilion, the aim is to have fun through knowledge, through experiences that show the importance of water, its various forms of use and the environments where it is present.

This Pavilion was completely renovated in 2019 and the new exhibition area consists of a trip along the river, from the source to the mouth, contemplating various fun and educational experiences along the way.

The new exhibition has a participatory nature and highlights the importance of water, through a set of playful and scientific experiences on phenomena related to water resources in a very interactive way, which promises to arouse the interest of children and adults.

There are three-dimensional images created through illusions, the possibility of composing music, observing the behavior of the waves, among many other activities and incredible surprises.

The Water Pavilion offers a lot of interactivity and a perfect balance between fun and learning. It is undoubtedly an interesting place to visit in Porto, regardless of age, although with children it is even more interesting and fun.

The Water Pavilion was one of the themed pavilions created for Expo 98 in Lisbon and which was later transferred to Porto and is now integrated into Parque da Cidade, the largest wooded area in Porto and the largest urban park in the country.

Parque da Cidade is next to the Sea Life Porto aquarium, so it is an ideal place to visit with children together.

The Water Pavilion is open from Monday to Friday from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm and from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. On Saturdays from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm and from 2:00 pm to 5:30 pm.

The adult ticket costs €8 and entry is free for children under 4 years old. For children from 4 to 12 years old the price is €5. Students and seniors (age 65 and over) pay €6. There are also packs for families: 1 adult + 1 child costs 11€ and a pack 2 adults + 1 child costs 18€ (extra child +4.00€)

Take a dip in knowledge, learn all about this essential resource for life, and enjoy quality family time. For more information see the official website of Pavilhão da Água
