Collective Art Show RISE marks the opening of a new art gallery in Lisbon

Because Art Matters – BAM Announces the opening of its first art gallery in Lisbon, at Espaço 8 Marvila, with the Collective Art Show Rise”.

Because Art Matter – BAM, an artistic platform dedicated to promoting and amplifying synergies between artists, art lovers and collectors, through exhibitions, the sale of original works, and collaborations, is pleased to announce the opening of its first art gallery in Lisbon.

The gallery, located in Espaço 8 Marvila, a venue renowned for embracing artistic and cultural innovation, opens its doors on December 1 at 5pm with the inauguration of the Collective Art Show Rise – whose name and concept narrative are intended to reflect the human capacity to transcend, evolve, inspire, overcome challenges and elevate the spirit through art.

The “Because Art Matters”-BAM project was born in Lisbon and sees itself on the market as a global artistic platform, with the aim of promoting and amplifying synergies between artists, art lovers and collectors, through exhibitions, the sale of works, collaborations, and a digital gallery.

This exhibition will bring together artworks by 25 renowned national and international artists, with distinct artistic styles and approaches and bodies of work linked to the universes of visionary and urban contemporary art, illustration, and sculpture, such as Dadara and CIX Dmt, who are exhibiting for the first time in Lisbon, and the Portuguese Ram and Mário Belém, who are presenting live collaborative works for the first time.

Rise is an important milestone for the artistic community and art lovers, and represents Because Art Matters’ commitment to celebrating the diversity of artistic expressions that exist in an increasingly multicultural Portugal.

“We are thrilled to open the doors of our first art gallery in Lisbon, our hometown, at 8 Marvila, a visionary venue and project that values art and creativity and promises to be a must-see in Lisbon’s cultural life and lifestyle.” says  Gonçalo Magalhães, artistic curator and founder of Because Art Matters.

He adds, “the Rise exhibition is a testament to our commitment to creating an inclusive and inspiring space for artists and art lovers where we can appreciate and acquire works by some of the best urban contemporary artists in the world.”

The gallery and exhibition will be open to the public from Thursday to Sunday, December 1st to 17th, between 12 p.m. and 8pm. Free admission.
